Lacrosse in Memphis has been growing steadily over the past 30 years. As the national landscape of lacrosse has rapidly evolved, Memphis athletes have not consistently ascended to the highest levels of the sport as compared to other southeastern cities. Moreover, in recent years, many Memphis athletes have had to seek opportunities outside of Memphis to take the next step in their growth as lacrosse players.
Memphis Lacrosse Academy exists to teach lacrosse, inspire growth, and develop future leaders who will impact their teams, schools, and the world through transformational lacrosse experiences.
Team Tennessee Lacrosse is a regional club lacrosse organization in Tennessee that brings together some of the best youth players from across the state and Southeast to compete and develop at a higher level. Based on its official site (“Bringing Southeast Lacrosse Together”), the program unites top local club affiliates including Nashville Elite, TNLX (Knoxville), Chattanooga Lacrosse Club, and Memphis Lacrosse Academy to provide training opportunities, showcase competition and tournament play for multiple graduating classes, with the goal of enhancing skill development, exposure to college coaches, and competitive experiences beyond local schedules
901 Lacrosse was founded in 2017 with a mission to bring the game of box lacrosse to the greater Memphis area. The benefits of the game have been lauded by lacrosse greats across the sport, including coaches, players and commentators. You can see the impact box lacrosse has had in the NCAA & PLL by just the sheer number of Canadian players, where the game of box lacrosse originated, dominating their craft.
