The Memphis Youth Lacrosse Association (MYLA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that’s purpose is the governing and membership association for boys' lacrosse at the youth level in the Memphis metropolitan area. The youth level is defined as grades Kindergarten to 8th (6U to 14U).
Guiding Principles:
Creating a structured environment in which players, coaches, administrators, and parents benefit from USA Lacrosse membership in an organization that facilitates the growth and rewards of playing lacrosse.
Promoting and protecting the health of participating players by establishing uniform rules of play and cultivating the ideals of good sportsmanship, loyalty, and fair play.
Working in harmony with the interscholastic governing bodies of TSSAA Member School Programs, and other Tennessee constituencies.
Establishing and maintaining a process for continuous improvement of the MYLA, by working with MYLA Member Programs, and other Tennessee constituencies.
Building school-based boy's lacrosse teams in Memphis, Tennessee (all players on a team attend the same source school, or live in the same township/city, and ideally lacrosse is recognized as a school sport by the athletic director, and if a public school recognized as a school sport by the independent school district.)
